This morning I rode along the eastern bank of the Mississippi ... a working river ... transportation, power, and recreation ... my first snack break was for a block of local cheese, of course ... in the afternoon I traversed gorgeous rolling hills through dairy farm after dairy farm ... when I stopped for breaks, I talked to the farmers ... the corn and soybean crops are being devastated by the drought ...
